 The Tents (Khiyam): The repeating, stepped geometric triangular arches represent the luxurious fabric tents (خيام) pitched by ottoman governors (Pashas / الباشا) or high-ranking figures during royal visits, encampments, and major gatherings in the region.

 Archival Structure: In traditional Palestinian embroidery—particularly on the chest panel (qabbeh) of Bethlehem dresses—these sharp, stepped arches encase central square or star medallions (Qamar / Moon), forming a regal, highly structured frame.

 Symbolism: The motif represents grandeur, hospitality, protection, and architectural symmetry. Over generations, Palestinian embroiderers adapted these grand encampment forms into intricate, repeating grid needlework, making it one of the most prestigious geometric motifs in heritage textiles.

• Spot Cleaning (Recommended): For small marks on the fabric, use a soft, damp cloth with a tiny drop of mild detergent. Gently dab the area without rubbing the embroidered threads.

• Gentle Hand Wash: If the purse requires a full clean, hand wash it in cold water only. Use a gentle detergent and avoid soaking the purse for more than 10 minutes.

• Handle with Care: Be mindful of the hand-stitched threads. Avoid wearing the purse against sharp jewellery, zippers, or rough surfaces that could snag the embroidery.

• Drying: Never tumble dry. Reshape the purse while damp and lay it flat to air dry in the shade. Keep it out of direct sunlight while drying to prevent the textile from fading.
